The Future Parent Options staff is excited to guide and offer you support throughout your entire journey.
We’ll begin with an initial consultation, where we’ll provide you with the details of the entire process. Surrogacy is a beautiful experience, but we know it is a sensitive, overwhelming time for many future parents. We will be there to guide you through every step of the way. Our staff consists of past surrogate mothers, and we have over nineteen years of experience. You can rest assured that you’ll be well taken care of.
Your Surrogacy Journey
Anticipated Program Fee Schedule
The surrogate program fee schedule is available to provide you with a thorough overview of any and all potential costs identified in your surrogacy arrangement. Future Parent Options wants you to understand each and every cost associated with surrogacy. Not all costs may apply to your specific arrangement.
Consultation
It is important to establish a relationship with the FPO team so that we will be able to provide individual treatment to help meet your specific needs.
Matching
If the surrogate agrees with your profile, a Zoom video call will be arranged.
Retaining Agency
Once you and your surrogate have agreed to work with each other, you will sign the FPO Client Retainer Agreement and pay the agency fee along with any professional fees due.
Surrogate Screening
Your surrogate will have her psychological evaluation which typically is scheduled within one week of retaining Future Parent Options. Medical screening with your IVF clinic will be scheduled once your surrogate has passed her psychological screening.
Legal Process
Now that your surrogate has passed her medical screening, your legal contracts will be prepared. FPO will refer you to an attorney for preparation and representation of your contract; Gestational Carrier Agreement (GCA). Once you and your surrogate have signed and notarized the GCA, you will fund the Trust Account which is held by your attorney. Legal clearance cannot be issued until the Trust Account has been funded.
IVF Protocol
Your Fertility Doctor will determine the medical protocol for you or your egg donor and surrogate. An embryo transfer will take place approximately 3 to 4 months after you have been matched with your surrogate.
Pregnancy Journey
Approximately 9 to 14 days after the embryo transfer a pregnancy test is performed and 4 to 6 weeks later a heartbeat ultrasound is completed. Your surrogate will be released to her OB doctor at approximately 10 to 14 weeks of pregnancy. The OB doctor determines the level of care necessary including but not limited to number of prenatal visits, recommendation of additional testing deemed necessary for the ongoing health of the surrogate and your baby.
Pre Birth Order
At approximately 16 to 20 weeks of pregnancy, your attorney will prepare legal documents to obtain a court order determining legal parentage for your child. Once your baby is born the typical time frame to obtain a birth certificate is 5 – 10 business days.
Delivery
This is a very exciting and anxious time for you. It is impossible to know when your baby will be born, however we encourage you to arrive at least 2 weeks prior to the birth
